各位親愛的家長及同學：

Dear parents and students,

農曆新年假後，下學期開始了，上課時間亦由半日轉為全日，同學們要在學校進行午膳及在操場午息。起初家長及老師都比較擔心學生會不適應，畢竟同學們已經三年沒有在學校午膳，但事實證明，同學表現十分好，而且十分享受這種學校生活。午息時，他們更可以在操場上進行多項不同的活動，正式有社交活動了。

After the Lunar New Year holidays, the second term started with whole day schooling. It means students need to have lunch at school. In the beginning, parents and teachers were worried as they had not had dinner at school for 3 years. In fact, our students did so good and they really enjoy staying at school. During the lunch recess, there are lots of activities arranged by teachers which can provide an opportunity to students how to have social interaction with others.

老師早在二月三日(星期五)已經回校上班。這天為教師專業發展日，我們分別邀請了曾鈺成先生及張笑容女士為我們分享。題目分別為「《基本法》和國家對香港基本方針政策」及「培養學生正面價值觀—同理心、尊重、守規」，內容十分豐富，而且也能回應學校發展計劃的內容。另外，學校購買了一英文網上學習平台，故安排當天為老師進行培訓，期望老師可指導學生運作平台，學習英語。下午四時半，老師及職工們一起到世界龍岡學校劉皇發中學參加新春團拜，當中有謁祖禮、派發新利是、還有舞龍表演，最令大家高興是各校派出老師唱歌助慶，我們高唱「迎春花」一曲，節日氣氛濃厚。各校老師也趁在這時候進行交流，互相祝福。這個活動已經沒有舉辦兩年，我們中學、小學、幼稚園的同工終於可以再聚首一堂，慶祝新年。

Teachers actually went back to school earlier than students 3 days before. It was the Teacher Professional Development Day which was held on 3rd February 2023. We were glad to invite Mr. Jasper Tsang who was the former Chairman of Legislative Council and Ms. Smile Cheung who is famous in media. They help us to conduct seminar about Basic Law and Positive Education respectively. A English e-learning platform is bought for students to learn how to be self-regulated learner. We had a workshop to learn how to use it. In the afternoon, we all went to LKWFS Lau Wong Fat Secondary School to participate the Lunar New Year Gathering. There was a ceremony, giving out red pockets and dragon dancing. The most exciting program is teachers from different schools needed to sing a song, it made the atmosphere become festive. We all took this chance to talk and share with other teachers in different schools as it had not held for 2 years.

二月九日(星期四)六年級的同學參觀故宮博物館，我也是第一次到這裏參觀。這是一幢很宏偉的建築，地方又大又寬敞。同學們到不同的展館參觀，大家一邊看展品及資料，一邊參與活動，十分投入。這是一次難得的學習經歷，同學不用長途跋涉到北京參觀，便可以了解及認識我國文化。

On 9th February, 2023, all the P.6 students visited Hong Kong Palace Museum. It was my first time to be there. The building is magnificent and spacious inside. Students walked around to see the artifacts with supporting information. They were so involved and enjoyed this visit. It was such a precious learning experience as students do not need to go to Beijing and they can learn and know more about the culture of our country.

二月十四日(星期二)我前往廣播道的香港電台，接受馬浚偉「同學」的訪問，他的節目名稱是「同理‧繼續傾」，在香港電台第二台星期一至星期五晚上10:00至零晨12:00，每晚有不同的主題，逢星期三當中有一環節為「校長的話」，馬同學邀請不同的校長訪問，了解不同學校的發展及校長本身的成長經歷，鼓勵同學們努力學習。有關我們談話內容仍未播放，當有播放日期時，我再告訴大家。

On 14th February 2023, I went to Broadcast Drive as RTHK is there. I was interview by the celebrity – Steven Ma Chun Wai and he was called ‘Student’ during interview. He talked to lots of principals and wanted to know how the principal runs the school and his/her journey of being a principal. It has not been broadcasted and I will inform all of you when I know the exact time and date.

二月十五日(星期三)為配合中文科及常識科的課題，二年級的同學前往學校附近的海濱長廊進行考察，欣賞風景及了解區內的設施。同學們嘗試使用這些設施，了解別人的需要。所謂「經歷為本」，就是給予同學去實踐及經歷，令他們更深刻所學的知識。

On 15th February, 2023, P.2 students went out school to walk around nearby to learn the facilities in the community. They went to the Tuen Mun Waterfront Promenade to enjoy the Seaview. They even tried to disable facilities – ramp to pretend a blind person to walk on it. Learning through encountering the experience is best way for engraving the knowledge in their mind.

大家還記得在上一個月，部分同學寫信給我，希望學校開辦足球隊。在二月十六日(星期四)放學，足球隊正式操練，同學們也認真練習，他們將會參加區內的友誼賽，成績不重要，最重要是令他們學習珍惜，堅毅及團隊精神。

Last month, several students wrote me a letter as they wanted to have a football team. On 16th February 2023 after school, the football team was formed and started training. They were so serious to practice. They will have several friendly matches with other schools nearby. The result is not so important but making them learn treasure, perseverance and team spirit is vital.

二月二十日(星期一)下午全級五年級的同學前往香港文化中心欣賞一齣音樂芭蕾舞劇。同學第一次到大劇院欣賞表演，也不禁嚴肅起來。主辦機構為同學們設計了小鹿面譜，回校也捨不得脫下，大家也讚賞這一齣音樂芭蕾舞劇。

On 20th February 2023, all the P.5 students went to the Hong Kong Cultural Centre to watch a musical ballet performance. It was the first time our student went into an auditorium. They became serious and nervous. They got a deer mask and did not want to take it off. They told me they really enjoyed watching this ballet performance.

二月二十一日(星期二)下午舉辦了上學期頒獎禮，學校已經有兩年多沒有邀請家長參與頒禮，家長們帶著喜悅的笑容參加，見證自己的小朋友的表現。藉此鼓勵同學們「勝不驕，敗不餒」的精神，繼續改進自己，爭取好的表現。

First term prize presentation day was held on 21st February 2023. It has not been held for 2 years and parents had not come for a long time. They all wore a smiling face to participate this prize presentation to witness their children to get the certificates. I remind all our students with a motto – ‘Not to become dizzy with success, nor be discouraged by failure!’. We should keep on improving ourselves and present the best to others.

二月二十二日(星期三)上午，我們四年級全級同學前往M+博物館欣賞日本著名的藝術家草間彌生的展覽，名為：「草間彌生：一九四五年至今」。她的作品用色大膽，超現實、前衛，令人欣賞後作出反思及激發創意。展館安排細心，每班有兩位職員負責導賞，他們十分耐心，每個互動的活動都顯現出心思，令我們的學生一邊欣賞，一邊學習，真正感受到如何有效獲得知識。每當同學走進不同的展館，他們都報以：「嘩」的一聲！太壯麗的展品。真是值得參觀的好去處。

All the P4 students and some P5 and P6 students went to the M+ museum on 22nd February 2023. We appreciated the famous artist called ‘Yayoi Kusama’. Her creations are bold, avant-garde and surrealism which make people introspect and stimulate our creativity. There were 2 tour guides to lead us to walking around with explanation. They were patient. They were so professional to interact with students. You could hear ‘Wow’ all the time when students walked into a new area. It is worth to see this exhibition.

二月二十三日(星期四)，我們為小四至小六在學校禮堂安排了一場分享會，題目是：「音樂新視野—音樂劇」。負責的講者是著名的音樂劇演員，她不單教導同學如何分辦歌劇及音樂劇及欣賞不同的劇目，而且即場表演如何唱歌，又邀請同學們嘗試表演，同學們都十分投入。

‘New music perspective – musical’ was shared at our school hall for P4 to P6 student on 23rd February 2023. A famous musical performer introduced what is musical and opera. She even performed in front of us. She also invited our students to try to perform and they were engaged.

在開學的首一個月安排不同的活動，目的是希望同學們在活動過程中盡快適應學校生活，多表達自己，多欣賞不同的事物，日後也能在課堂或生活上運用。老師們完全明白同學們在這三年疫情，有着不同的經歷，希望他們在心理或生理上都能夠重回正軌。

The school has been starting for almost a month. The school arranged lots of activities to our students because we want them to get involved to their school life quickly. We also want them to be brave to express themselves after seeing different exhibition. I hope they will use it in their learning or daily life. Our teachers totally understand that our students had different experiences during the 3-year pandemic. It is hope that they can be back to normal as soon as possible.
